Fire Curb Striping

We offer full curb striping with DOT-grade red traffic paint that meets Dallas's requirement for both vertical and horizontal curb faces. Our stripe widths are a minimum of 6 inches, providing complete coverage that'll pass a fire marshal inspection.

Fire Lane Pavement Marking

If your property doesn't have a curb or curb painting simply isn't practical, we apply clearly marked fire lanes directly on the pavement, so they're visible as per DFC Section 503 requirements (which govern how fire apparatus access roads and fire lanes are marked and maintained).

Fire Lane Lettering & Stencling

We apply white 4-inch minimum lettering reading "NO PARKING FIRE LANE" at 25-foot intervals along both sides of your property's fire lane, allowing unobstructed access for fire trucks. Our stencil markings are properly spaced and positioned on the red border markings.

Fire Lane Sign Installation

If you need fire lane signs installed, we also offer this service. We supply and install 12" x 18" minimum reflective fire lane signs at code-required 50-foot intervals. These are mounted at 6'6" height on stationary posts. We also install companion "Tow Away Zone" signs where needed.

Fire Lane Restriping & Maintenance

Has your fire lane striping faded over time? We restore faded markings to continue to comply with the Dallas Fire Code regulations (to remain clean and legible at all times). This is typically recommended every 2-4 years, depending on traffic volume and weather exposure.

Dallas Fire Lane Requirements We Follow

We already know where fire lanes should go, how wide they need to be, what color and wording the markings require, and how often signs or lettering must appear. We follow the Dallas Fire Code exactly, so emergency vehicles can access your property, and so you don’t risk getting fined or failing an inspection.

Dallas has adopted the 2021 International Fire Code with local amendments under Ordinance No. 32381, effective February 10, 2023. These requirements supersede general Texas or IFC standards and are actively enforced by the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department's Inspection and Life Safety Education Division.

When you choose CRI Striping Dallas, you don’t have to learn the fire lane regulations or worry about getting them wrong.

PROTECTION

_Group_ (21) 2.png

Towing Authority & Property Owner Protection

Here's something many property owners don't realize: under Texas Occupations Code § 2308.251(c), if your fire lane markings don't meet code requirements, you may not have legal standing to tow cars parked in them, even if they’re blocking emergency access.

Texas law says you only have the right to tow when your fire lane striping and signs meet code, so faded paint or missing wording can take that authority away. If you tow anyway, you could end up facing serious penalties, including paying back towing and storage fees and an additional fine.
